CHP’s mobile hearing test truck is currently on it’s annual hearing test road trip through the MidWest, Gascoyne, Pilbara and Kimberley regions of WA. Each year, and for the past 15 years, we take our onsite services to the regions to make it easier for regional businesses to meet their OHS legislative compliance around noise.
Matt has enjoyed catching up with many existing and a few new clients on his travels so far. He has been busy doing a range of onsite HSE services including hearing tests – both WorkCover and subsequent audiometric tests; isocyanate health surveillance; vision screening; noise surveys; water hygiene assessment sampling; dust monitoring and also drug and alcohol testing.
Every year in August, our hearing test truck leaves Perth and heads North to allow regional businesses to more easily access these health and safety services and meet their OHS requirements.
In case you are interested in Matt coming to your worksite or workplace on his next road trip, these are the towns he has visited over the past 3 weeks to provide workplace hearing testing and other services:
- Port Hedland
Look out for Matt in the CHP hearing test truck in Broome over the weekend! He is then heading to Tom Price, Paraburdoo, Meekatharra, Cue, Morawa, Wongan Hills, Goomalling, York and back to Perth at the end of August.
Employers responsibility around noise
It is compulsory to arrange baseline hearing tests in prescribed workplaces, even if your workers are wearing hearing protection. All workers employed in a prescribed workplace for the first time must have a baseline hearing test within twelve months of commencing employment.
The employer or PCBU is responsible to arrange and pay for all WorkCover WA audiometric tests.
Here are some pics of his travels to the warmer regions north of Perth so far.
